Lawn Care
Watering
Instant lawn should be watered immediately after it has been installed. During winter months it may only need one water at the start. During summer and the warmer months it can require twice daily watering for the first ten days. These first waterings are crucial to the establishment of your instant lawn. Also during warm months a 'syrine' watering maybe needed. This is a two minute water in the heat of the day to take the stress out of the instant lawn. (Run hoses cold into garden area first to avoid burning)
Mowing
Mowing is important to keep your instant lawn in the best possible condition. The first mow should occur 10-14 days after installation. This initial mow should be at a height of 40-45mm, and this should be continued every 5-6 days. When the instant lawn is fully establised, regular mowing can be at a height of 40-50mm but whichever you choose keep it consistent. To ensure all-round thickness, the instant lawn should be mowed in varying directions. All clippings should be removed to avoid lawn burning and fungal infections.
Fertilising and Spraying
Small, regular applications of fertiliser should be made every 10-12 weeks at 30gms/m2. This will help to keep the instant lawn lush and dense, and ensure a healthy colour. The lawn may require spraying for broad leaf weeds and to help keep undesirable grasses out. Contact us to find out what spray is best for your situation.
